Studio Guidelines

General Dance Policies and Procedures
Enrollment Form Agreement & Waiver
Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, as class sizes are limited. Register early to ensure that you/your child's place is held. A non-refundable fee of $20 and is required at the time of registration.
Please register online at www.kauaiballetacademy.com Registration is not complete until annual fees are paid and monthly tuition payments are set up.
Payment of Tuition
This is a full time dance program with payments due at the time of registration. There are 35 weeks of dance classes over the course of 10 months. The tuition is the same every month regardless of holidays or missed classes.
There are 2 ways to pay tuition for the annual program: 1. Pay annual tuition in full via Credit Card. 2. Set up Monthly Automatic Payments via Credit Card.
Students wishing to take part in the program, including shows, must complete the tuition payments for the entire season regardless of student’s absence due to planned family vacations, missed classes, or other absences.
Payments must be received upon registration to confirm class time. No class times will be confirmed without completing registration. Absentee students must continue to pay the regular tuition to ensure that their place is held within the chosen class. All tuition is non-transferable and there are no extensions.
Care of Students
Kauai Ballet Academy is not responsible for providing before of after class care for students. Parents with students under the age of 5 must remain nearby during classes. Students are to be picked up immediately after class and dropped off up to 10 minutes before class. You will be fined $20 for every 5 minutes you are late to pick up your child after class. KBA cannot be responsible for supervising children outside of class or before or after class time. Being respectful of this very important rule will ensure your child's safety.
Injuries
Parents, legal guardians of minors, students and adult students waive the right to any legal action for any injury sustained on studio property resulting from normal dance activity or any other activity conducted by the students before, during or after class time.
Withdrawals and Refunds
One-month's notice is required to discontinue any classes. Tuition is non-refundable; class credit will be issued depending upon circumstances. Please allow one month from notice for Auto pay to cancel. Withdrawals must be emailed to kauaiballetacademy@gmail.com No verbal withdrawals to teachers or staff will be accepted.
Kauai Ballet Academy reserves the right to terminate lessons to any students or cancel classes in the case of an emergency without notice. In such cases credit will be issued for unused lessons. Minimum class size is 5 students.
Class Credit Policy
Changes or cancellations on the part of Kauai Ballet Academy will be rescheduled at a later time.
If the class is not rescheduled, a class credit will be issued to the student.
Attendance & Missed Classes
A minimum attendance standard will be required. If a student misses more than 4 classes without prior arrangements or email communication from parents one month prior to the show, they will not be allowed to participate. Tuition will still be required and no refund will be issued as long as the student is enrolled in the program.
Ethical Conduct
Students are not permitted to perform any choreography that has been taught or coached at KBA without verbal consent of the director. This includes, but is not limited to, talent shows, showcases, and performances. Students may be dismissed for unethical conduct.
Classroom Policies and Procedures
Classes are open for viewing by appointment only and observers must be still and quite. Use of cell phones by observers and students in not permitted. Parents and guardians observing class will be asked to leave if their cell phone rings or if they are talking during class.
Students are required to arrive for class on time. We recommend that students arrive ten minutes early. On time means that students are dressed and inside the Dance Studio ready to start the class at the beginning of class time.
Water is allowed in class. No other food or drink, please.
No photography or videotaping allowed unless previously coordinated with the instructor.
Refrain from talking in class.
Use the Bathroom before class begins.
No gum, candy, or food allowed in the studio.
You must label all your dance equipment with your name. This includes uniform, shoes, dance bag, costumes, etc.
Kauai Ballet Academy is not responsible for any lost or stole articles
Kauai Ballet Academy is not responsible for accidental injury that may occur within the Dance Studio or on the studio grounds
General Dress Code
Girl's hair must be in a neat, secured bun for ballet.
Girl's hair can be tied back into a ponytail for all other classes.
No jewelry (i.e. Necklaces, Long earrings, Watches (Most rings and Stud Earrings are Okay)
Dance shoes must be worn during all classes.
The student may be asked to sit out of class, should they fail to meet dress code requirements.
Girl's Pre-Primary & Primary Ballet Attire: Pink Ballet Leotard, Matching Circular Skirt, Pink Tights, Pink Ballet Shoes.
Girl's Level 1 2,3,4,5 Attire: Black Leotard, Black Skirt, Pink Tights, And Pink Ballet Shoes.
Adult Ballet Attire Any Colored Dance Attire or comfortable clothing, Ballet Shoes.
Boy's Ballet Attire Black Athletic Shorts, White T-Shirt, Black or White Leather Ballet Shoes.
Women's Character Attire Black Character or Spanish Skirt, Black Leotard, Black Character Shoes.
Men's Character Attire Black Pants, White Shirt, Black Character Shoes.
